The Pool

The pool is spacious at 10 x 5 metres. Level terraces at ground floor level provide easy access and surrounding terraces are screened from the local road and are easily accessible from the spacious lounge.

The Lounge

The cool, tiled floors and marble staircase are special features, along with colourful oriental rugs. For stay-insides, there is satellite television, VCR and Hi-fi, but the pool and terraces invite a relaxing pace of life outdoors. There is a barbecue and furniture for outdoors dining. The Algarve has one of the best sun records in Europe, yet rarely gets oppressively hot.

The Kitchen

The large, modern and friendly kitchen has a gas/electric hob and electric oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher, and there is a washing machine in the kitchen annex with ironing facilities. But don't worry, a maid will call weekly to clean the villa and do the laundry for you!

The Bedrooms

The villa is fully equipped for sleeping 6 people in three comfortable bedrooms. Two are 2 twin-bedded rooms. One, as shown on left, opens out to the pool terrace, and the upstairs master bedroom has a double bed with adjoining shower room, and opens out onto its own private terrace.

The Garden

The well-tended garden borders the villa and makes a lovely backdrop to the pool and barbecue.

Location

It's a newly built family holiday home in the sun that is available for letting to people who appreciate a relaxed and carefree holiday in the rural peace of the eastern Algarve, away from the package holiday crowds. Located on the eastern side of Faro Airport, this is a much less touristy area than the string of resorts to the west.

Casa de Amêndoeira is situated just inland from the small fishing village of Fuzeta, with the very Portuguese small town of Moncarapacho nearby to the north - but not too close. At night probably all you will hear is the sound of cicadas. During day, the normal sounds of the countryside take the place of tourists and commerce.

The Surrounding Area

In Moncarapacho walk around and enjoy the bustle of shoppers and local farmers buying in their needs. There is still a blacksmith here to shoe the local mules and horses every Saturday morning. The town boasts two beautiful churches and an interesting little museum. There is also a small supermarket, banks, post office and garage - and two excellent restaurants for eating out!

The small fishing villages of Fuzeta and Santa Lucia, and the resort village of Pedras del Rei are nearby and are easily accessible by car (or by bike - you can hire in Tavira). Tavira, one of the most fascinating and beautiful towns on the Algarve, has unique architecture, history and style. It also has a well-equiped medical centre.
