The House Tour

The house is on the south side of the Serra de Monchique mountains in a secluded yet open position with amazing views to the coast.

On the first floor there is a large open-plan sitting room with dining area, kitchen and two bedrooms both with their own bath and shower. The double bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite facilities and the twin bedroom has its own bathroom. The living room and bedrooms lead on to a totally private partly shaded balcony, ideal for eating out, relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine and the beautiful view. The balcony has table and chairs.

On the ground floor are a twin and a single bedroom, each with a bathroom or shower room. We also have a cot and high chair

The house sleeps a maximum of 7.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool (approximately 12m x 5m x 2m in the deep end and 1.3m in the shallow end) has wide steps at the shallow end for small children to play on. It is below the house with steps through the garden. For your peace of mind, we have gates to prevent children going there on their own. There is a shaded area and a good supply of sun loungers.

There is a loo and basin at the pool.

We ask our visitors to bring their own swimming towels.

Garden

The property extends to nearly 3/4 hectare. The area round the house and pool is terraced and cultivated with a variery of unusual flowers and flowering shrubs, there are several lemon trees, orange and chestnut trees.

Maid Service

A very good part-time maid comes three times a week for a half day. She cleans the house, washes the linen and generally tidies up. We have a gardener/handyman who lives close by. He looks after the garden and maintains the swimming pool.

Location and Directions

We are located in the heart of Algarve near the town of Monchique on the road to Foia mountain, about 1000 feet below the top.

You will need to hire a car at the airport. On the way you can do you essential shopping at Modelo supermarket in Silves.

As you come into Monchique, take the road from the square to Foia. The house is 4km from Monchique . You pass several very good small restaurants on the way. People come for here for the fantastic views. Our house is about 200 metres away from and above the main road.
