Winter season:

During the winter Chalet D'Ile is run as a catered chalet. I run the chalet myself so plenty of good home cooking and flowing wine.

Chalet D'Ile is ideal for groups of friends and families. For those wanting to come and stay in smaller groups you will have the chance to meet new people, perhaps to ski with or party with or both.

SKIING.
Chamonix is famous for its skiing and the famous La Vallée Blanche.
Chamonix has 5 main ski areas which gives you plenty of scope to explore the area depending on snowm conditions and the weather.
Le Brévent and La Flégère is the closest ski area to the chalet a 5 minute drive away. It is on the sunny side of the valley ideal for skiing in the chillier months at the start of the season. There are fantastic views from the top of Le Brévent. There is now a liasion link between Le Brévent and
La Flégère making it a much larger ski area.
Le Tour.
This is at the far end of the valley and is great for beginners with wide open nursery slopes. There is some tree lined skiing at the back of Le Tour where if visibility is poor this can be a good place to go.
Les Grands Montets is the place to go for steep terrain and moguls. Not ideal for beginners but if you want a challenge there is plenty here to test you.
L'Aiguille du Midi this is the start of the famous
La Vallée Blanche run. This is all off piste with fantastic glacial views. I would strongly recommend hiring a guide for the day trip to get the most out of your day and for your own safety.

Summer Season:

Chalet D’Ile is now open for the summer. The chalet can be run on a self-catering,  B&B or catered basis.

Chalet D’Ile is ideal for families and groups.

Perfectly located in a quiet residential area of Chamonix, yet within easy walking distance of the town centre. Chalet D’Ile sits in its own garden with a large patio, giving great views of Mont Blanc. Great for barbeques and for relaxing in the sun.

Chalet D’Ile is a new chalet with a fully equipped kitchen; oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer for your use.

There is plenty of space for car parking. The spacious garage provides large and secure storage space for bikes, climbing gear and other equipment.

ACTIVITIES
During the summer Chamonix is busier than the winter. There is so much to do. If you fancy an active holiday this could be the place for you.

Here are a few ideas of the things to do in Chamonix.

Walking.
There are hundreds of walking trails in the Chamonix Valley. There is something for everyone. Low level valley walks ideal for children with some good picnic spots en route. Some of the ski lifts work in the summer so you have the option of taking the slog out of the uphills or saving your knees on the downhill. There are also lovely overnight walks where you can stay in mountain refuges or camp.

Mountain Biking.
There are many trails for mountain biking which are colour coded depending on the difficulty. Good 4x4 tracks ideal for kids, single track climbs and technical descents.

Climbing.
Chamonix is a climbing mecca. There are great bolted crags close to town for all levels. Higher altitude climbs are in abundance.

Mont Blanc.
Chamonix is situated at the foot of Mont Blanc. For those wanting to climb it, this can be done in 2 days. Hiring a guide is strongly recommended.

Adrenalin Rushes.
For those who want an adrenalin rush there is no shortage of activities from parapenting, white water rafting, aerial ropes course, summer luge and canyoning.

Water Sports
Water skiing and wake boarding at Lake Annecy.
Windsurfing at Lac Passy.
