Anchors Gate B&B is situated on beautiful Shad Bay, a deep but calm bay in the community of Bayside. Being 4kms from the open ocean, the bay provides shelter to weary sailors, a livelihood to fisherman and a playground to all sea lovers. With surrounding patios the lush gardens, peaceful waters and feeding birds can be enjoyed by those seeking a relaxing hideaway, yet the attractions of Halifax City is only 20 minutes away.

Upon entering our sun room there is an abundance of information on all areas of Nova Scotia, accompanied by a guided visual tour of the Nova Scotia Map by George, a historian.

Our dining room is where strangers become friends, overlooks the Bay and features hearty home cooked meals complete with our mother's homemade jams. Our home includes many nautical artefacts collected world wide over the years, each with a story to tell.

Anchors Gate B&B has 4 world class rooms the "Midship Quarter"; the "Aft Quarter"; the "Fore Quarter"; and "Crows Nest".

The "midship quarter" offers a chance for you to make a cup of tea, with a small kitchenette including table and chairs, small fridge and dishes. Your home away from home, this room features its own private entrance, queen size bed and pull out sofa. The large bathroom, cable TV, fan and ocean view lets you settle in comfort.
 

The "aft quarter" offers you a separate home, complete with private bedroom, fully equipped kitchen (including fridge, stove, microwave, washer/ dryer and dishes) and pull out double sofa. This unit is self contained and features its own patio. It is comfortable for a family and offers you a chance to cook your own meals after a day of sight seeing. The visiting business person may also find this a unique setting, close to Halifax, but in a tranquil setting. A hearty breakfast is included in the price.
 

The "fore quarter" is a unique room with a panoramic view of Shad Bay. Watch the sunrise/ sunset from your own balcony or view the stars while laying in the double bed. Cable TV, fan and your own private bathroom makes this a room to remember.

The "Crows Nest" is a larger room with full ocean view and features its own private entrance. The room can sleep 3 people comfortably with double and single matching beds. Cable TV, fan and your own bathroom make relaxation easy. The room also comes with a small fridge and table and chairs.
